There is something special about wooden boats, old ones in particular deserve special attention. They have a romance about them and a presence that no modern fibreglass or metal boat can ever match. They are fragile and they need a lot of maintenance but somehow it all seems worth it. We are fortunate enough to have a couple of historic wooden boats that were built in Williamstown, Victoria and in Hobart, Tasmania in the early and middle parts of the last century.
